Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Shubman Gill shared a heartwarming moment with his parents after leading his team to a memorable seven-wicket win against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Qualifier 2 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026.
Gill led from the front, smashing 104 runs from just 53 balls, as Gujarat Titans (GT successfully chased down a massive target of 215 runs in the penultimate over. It was the highest successful run chase ever recorded in an IPL playoff match and secured Gujarat's place in the title decider.

The celebrations became even more special after the match when Gill's father, Lakhwinder Singh, started dancing with joy. Gill looked a little shy at first, but soon joined his parents in the celebration. The family later posed together for photos, creating a heartwarming moment for fans. The clip went viral in no time. How Gill and Sudharsan perform in IPL 2026?
Gill has been one of the standout performers of IPL 2026. In 15 innings, he has scored 722 runs at an impressive strike rate of 163.72, putting him second in the race for the Orange Cap.
Gujarat openers Gill and Sai Sudharsan played a crucial part in the team's success. While Gill has scored 722 runs, Sudharsan has contributed 710 runs. The duo has consistently given their team strong starts, combining reliability with aggressive batting and maintaining strike rates close to 160 throughout the tournament.
RCB vs GT IPL head-to-head
GT will now face defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the final, which will take place on May 31 at iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Notably, this will be the fourth outing between RCB and GT in the ongoing edition of the tournament, where the Bengaluru-based franchise won two, and the Shubman Gill-led side managed to win one.
Interestingly, GT defeated RCB in Ahmedabad, where both sides will play the final. In Total, RCB and GT played nine times against each other in IPL history, with RCB holding a slight edge after winning five of those encounters. GT, meanwhile, have come out on top on four occasions.
