RCB vs GT IPL 2026: Royal Challengers Bengaluru's star wicket-keeper batter Phil Salt smashed a fifty in their previous match against Delhi Capitals. He is not part of the playing XI for the match against the Gujarat Titans, being held in Bengaluru. RCB captain Rajat Patidar chose to bowl first after winning the toss. Salt has been ruled out of the ongoing match due to injury. Jacob Bethell replaces him in the playing XI.

“One change – Salty got injured; Bethell is in," Rajat Patidar was heard as saying at the toss.

Bethell played in his IPL debut last year. He was last seen in action in March this year, against India, in the T20 World Cup semifinal. In that match, he scored a brilliant 105 off 48 balls and took his team close to the mammoth target of 254 runs.

During the ongoing match against the Shubman Gill-led side, Bethell will open with Virat Kohli. He has scored 67 runs in two IPL matches. He was dismissed after scoring 12 in his IPL debut against the Axar Patel-led side last year. In the next match against Chennai Super Kings, he scored a brilliant 55 off 33 balls.

Phil Salt played as an opener during IPL 2026. He scored 202 runs in six matches, including two fifties. In their previous match, he scored a gritty 63 off 38 balls. He smashed four fours and three sixes in that innings.

The Gujarat-based franchise has also made a few changes to its playing XI. Jason Holder will make his debut for GT. Apart from Manav Suthar, he is also part of the playing XI. They replace Glenn Phillips and pacer Ashok Sharma.
