India vs New Zealand Test Series: India's dream for a consolation win in the three-match Test series was shattered as New Zealand registered a memorable win in the final match in Mumbai on Sunday.

New Zealand completed a 3-0 whitewash over India, who lost their first Test series at home after 12 years.

The hosts had yet another horrible outing with the bat as they failed to chase down 147 runs with the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill and Sarfaraz Khan departing without contributing much with the bat, leaving fans and experts fuming on social media.

Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar even went on to call India's top-order collapse against the Kiwis worst their 36 and 46 all-out lows.

Notably, India were down to 29/5 in their second innings before Rishabh Pant bailed them out of trouble with a commendable fighting knock.

"That Sarfaraz Khan shot finishes off so far, one of the worst batting displays by India. This is worse than 36 & 46 all out," Manjrekar posted on X (formerly Twitter).

New Zealand skipper Tom Lathem mentioned their historic 3-0 series win as a "massive achievement" for them.

In the final match of the series, Ajaz Patel and Glenn Phillips unleashed a spin web on Indian batters, registering a 25-run win and becoming the first visiting side to whitewash India in India in a series of three or more matches.

India started the series on a disappointing note and were bowled out for just 46 runs in their first innings in Bengaluru and went on to lose the match by eight wickets.

Heading into the series after losing 0-2 in Sri Lanka, NZ skipper Latham said that they were trying to adapt to the conditions before coming to the Test series in India. He added that the Kiwis will "celebrate the series win as a group together over tonight and the next couple of days before we head home."
