WPL 2024 Auction: The TATA Women’s Premier League is set for its second edition, and the anticipation has risen with the release of the Player Auction list scheduled for December 9, 2023, in Mumbai.
Former West Indies allrounder Deandra Dottin and Australia's Kim Garth lead the pack with a base price of INR 50 Lakh. Following closely are four foreign players with a base price of INR 40 Lakh: Australian allrounders Annabel Sutherland and Georgia Wareham, South African pace sensation Shabnim Ismal, and English wicketkeeper Amy Jones.
The auction will feature 165 players, including 104 Indians vying for a maximum of 30 slots across five franchises. Among these, only nine slots are reserved for foreign players.

Players like Sri Lankan captain Chamari Athapaththu, India's finisher Veda Krishnamurthy, English opener Danni Wyatt, Australian prodigy Phoebe Litchfield, and New Zealand pace sensation Lea Tahuhu, who were overlooked in the WPL 2023, return with a base price of INR 30 Lakh. Additionally, Tammy Beaumont has entered under the wicketkeeper-batter category.
In the auction List, several players have been priced 30 lakhs, featuring a mix of both Indian and foreign talent. Among the Indian players, Priya Punia, Punam Raut, and Devika Vaidya in the batting category have registered themselves around that price tag.
In the all-rounder section, the experienced Danielle Gibson and the promising Meghna Singh are up there with a reserve price of 30 lakhs. The bowling department features the likes of Ekta Bisht , Preeti Bose, and Gouher Sultana.

Delhi Capitals (DC): 15 players, including 5 overseas players, with a total money spent of INR 11.25 and a salary cap available of INR 2.25. They have 3 available slots, including 1 for overseas players.
Gujarat Giants (GG): 8 players, featuring 3 overseas players. They have spent INR 7.55, with a substantial salary cap of INR 5.95. The franchise has 10 available slots, including 3 for overseas players.
Mumbai Indians (MI): A squad of 13 players, including 5 overseas players, with a total expenditure of INR 11.4. They have a salary cap of INR 2.1 and 5 available slots, including 1 for overseas players.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB): 11 players, featuring 3 overseas players, with a total spending of INR 10.15. RCB has a salary cap of INR 3.35 and 7 available slots, including 3 for overseas players.
Uttar Pradesh Warriors (UPW): A squad of 13 players, including 5 overseas players, with a total expenditure of INR 9.5. UPW has a salary cap of INR 4 and 5 available slots, including 1 for overseas players.
