Highest Successful Run Chase In WPL History: Royal Challengers Bengaluru women scripted the highest successful run chase in WPL history to kick off their 2025 campaign in the best possible way.
RCB began their title defence with a memorable six-wicket win over Gujarat Giants in match 1 of the WPL 2025 at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. They chased down the mammoth target of 202 runs in just 18.3 overs, surpassing Mumbai Indians' previous record of chasing down 191 runs against Gujarat Giants women in Delhi in WPL 2024.
RCB's run chase of 189 against GG women at the Brabourne Stadium in WPL 2023 stands third in the list.

Talking about the WPL 2025 opener, the challenge was always going to be a massive one as RCB lost their first two wickets cheaply as GG skipper removed Smriti Mandhana (9) and the experienced Danielle Wyatt-Hodge (4) inside the first two overs.
Ellyse Perry came up with a special and all-important contribution of 57 runs off just 34 deliveries. She smashed six fours and two sixes, stitching an 86-run stand for the third wicket with Raghvi Bisht.

Richa Ghosh then came out to bat at no.5 position and was soon joined by the young Kanika Ahuja in the middle. The duo took no time in shifting gears and started smashing the Gujarat bowlers all around the park.
In the 16th over of RCB's innings, Richa smashed Ash Gardner for 23 runs on the back of four boundaries and a six. She then attacked Priya Mishra to take out 17 more runs in the 18th over and ended up reaching her fifty in just 23 balls.
She went on to play a fiery and unbeaten knock of 64 runs off just 27 balls with the help of 7 fours and four sixes. Richa and Kanika stitched a 93-run stand for the fifth wicket which is the 3rd highest for RCB in WPL.
