WTC 2023-2025 Points Table: In a shocking turn of events, the Indian team faced a historic whitewash in a home Test series for the first time in over two decades, since 1999-2000.
India's hopes of ending the Test series on a high note were dashed as they suffered a heartbreaking 25-run defeat to New Zealand in the third Test at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium on Sunday.
The narrow defeat not only denied Rohit Sharma-led side a consolation victory but also resulted in a significant drop in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-2025 standings, dropping them to second place.
Their 0-3 series loss to New Zealand also led to a significant decline in India's percentage points (PCT), which now stands at 58.33. As a result, defending champions Australia, with a PCT of 62.5, have surged ahead to reclaim the number one spot.
New Zealand's amazing 3-0 series victory over India has propelled them to fourth place in the WTC points table, reviving their hopes of qualifying for the prestigious final.
The intense competition for the World Test Championship (WTC) final spot continues, with Sri Lanka and South Africa currently occupying third and fifth places, respectively.
