WTC 2023-25: During the second Test match in Kingston, Bangladesh scripted history by beating West Indies by 101 runs and have now leveled the two-match Test series by 1-1. It was a huge achievement for the visitors as they had won a Test match for the first time in West Indies since 2009. Irrespective of the match result, both the teams are lying at the last two positions of the WTC points table and this had the least impact on their rankings.

Bangladesh's stellar performance in the second Test

During the second Test match, Bangladesh's batting lineup stood out on a tricky surface. They were skittled out for 164 runs during the first innings but they bounced back brilliantly during the second innings as they posted a respectable target of 268 runs. Jaker Ali shone brilliantly with the bat as he scored a match-winning knock of 91 runs off just 106 balls. He was assisted well by Shadman Islam and skipper Mehidy Hasan Miraz as they helped the visitors post a respectable target for the hosts.

West Indies always had a tough time chasing the target as Bangladesh's bowling lineup rattled their batting order. Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam was the pick among the bowlers as he took a five-for during the second innings.
