Indian opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal is scaling new heights in the ongoing five-match T20I series against Australia in the absence of senior members of the side. The southpaw played a knock of 53 runs off 25 balls studded with nine fours and two sixes in India's 44-run win in Thiruvananthapuram to lead the series 2-0.
Playing in his 10th T20I, Yashasvi slammed his second fifty after missing the chance to score big in Vizag despite getting the start. The youngster admitted that he worked on his fitness and is still developing all his shots.
"I really worked on my fitness. I am trying to develop all my shots. The mental stuff is something I am working on. I believe in my practice sessions," Jaiswal said in the post-match presentation.

Talking about his knock, the opener termed it 'special' and said he played his shots fearlessly.
"It was really special for me. I was trying to play all my shots. Was trying to be fearless. I was sure of my decisions. I have been told by Surya bhai and VVS sir to go and play freely. I have been asked to express myself. For me, what I think I can develop and not think about anything else," he said.
"I am still learning. It was my mistake in the last game and said sorry to Ruturaj. Accepted that was my mistake. Rutu bhai is so humble and very caring," Jaiswal added.
