Six days after the fidayeen attack near the Red Fort, the process of returning vehicles parked in and around the blast site has still not commenced. The impact of the explosion was so severe that several vehicles were destroyed, while more than two dozen damaged cars and two-wheelers remain at the spot.
Due to the ongoing investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Delhi Police, and forensic teams, permission has not been granted to remove the vehicles. The road where the blast occurred also remains closed. Vehicle owners continue to gather outside the Red Fort complex for hours every day, hoping to retrieve their cars, scooters, or motorcycles.
Many owners have been waiting for two to three hours daily, but there has been no clarity on when the vehicles will be released. Mohammed Umar, whose car was parked inside the Red Fort parking area, said around 60 to 70 vehicles remain stuck at the site.
Investigating agencies state that each vehicle parked at and around the location is being thoroughly examined, which is why clearance has not yet been granted.
Abhijeet Singh, who has been visiting for four days, said, "I come every day hoping to get my scooter back. I wait for hours after taking leave from work, but the police are not giving any clear information."
