Delhi Red Fort Car Blast

The incident comes amid heightened security in the national capital following the November 10 car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort that claimed 12 lives.

In connection with the blast, security forces from multiple states have arrested seven individuals believed to be part of a “transnational terror module.” Authorities have also seized thousands of kilograms of explosives, detonators, timers, and other bomb-making materials.

Earlier this week, several suspects were detained in Haryana’s Faridabad, while arrests in Jammu and Kashmir were made a few days before the explosion.

Police said Dr Umar, who was allegedly driving the car that exploded near the Red Fort, was a member of the same terror module. He reportedly advanced the blast plans after the network was compromised. Dr Umar is believed to have close links with two other doctors associated with the module, Dr Muzammil Ahmad Ganai and Dr. Adeel Rather, both of whom he met while studying at Al-Falah Medical College.
