A Delhi Traffic Police head constable was suspended after a video allegedly showing him assaulting a taxi driver in the Paharganj area around 3 pm on December 14 went viral on social media. The police, however, said they have not received any official complaint from the driver.
“An argument broke out between the traffic police personnel and the car driver over a challan. When the driver attempted to leave the spot, a scuffle ensued,” a senior police officer said, according to the PTI.
The head constable is accused of assaulting the driver during the altercation, which was captured on a mobile phone by a bystander.

In a separate incident, Arvind Kumar Yadav, the Assistant Commissioner (Food Safety) posted in Ghaziabad, has been suspended with immediate effect over serious allegations of corruption, arbitrary enforcement, and harassment of traders. During the suspension period, he was attached to the office of the Commissioner of the Food Safety and Drug Administration in Lucknow.

The suspension order cites misuse of power for personal gain, harassment of business owners through arbitrary raids, failure to ensure food quality, poor coordination with staff, and violation of government policy. Authorities said his actions tarnished the department’s image and breached the state’s zero-tolerance policy on corruption, prompting disciplinary proceedings.
