Nearly five months after the brutal murder of an 18-year-old Delhi University student, a heartbreaking secret has come to light. While cleaning her late daughter's room on November 20, the victim's mother discovered a hidden two-page letter detailing six years of sexual abuse inflicted by the girl's paternal cousin.

The Discovery And Allegations

The victim's mother, a school teacher, found the letter tucked inside a notebook. The contents revealed a harrowing history of trauma that the student had kept silent about due to fear and shame.

Timeline Of Abuse: The letter, written when the victim was in the seventh standard, stated that the abuse began when she was just six years old.

Modus Operandi: The accused, her paternal uncle's son, allegedly abused her for the first time under the pretext of playing hide-and-seek. As he had easy access to the house, the abuse continued for six years.

Threats: The victim wrote that whenever she resisted, her cousin would make lewd comments and threaten to kill her. The letter also detailed her severe mental anguish and suicidal thoughts during that period.

Police Action

Shocked by the revelation, the mother immediately approached the Jahangirpuri police station.

Verification: The police submitted the letter to a handwriting expert for analysis.

FIR Registered: After the handwriting was confirmed to be the victim's, an FIR was formally registered on Tuesday.

Charges: The case has been filed under sections related to rape, death threats, and the POCSO Act. Police are currently consulting legal experts to determine the next course of action.

Background: The June Murder Case

The victim, a resident of Jahangirpuri, was killed in a separate incident earlier this year.

The Incident: On June 1, she was stabbed dozens of times and killed in a park in Mehrauli. The accused had also attempted to burn her body using petrol.

The Murder Accused: The police arrested a man named Arshdeep in connection with the murder. Investigations revealed he had been pressuring the student due to a one-sided obsession and killed her after she rejected him.

Status: The charge sheet for the murder case has already been filed in court.
