The Delhi High Court announced a significant decision on Wednesday concerning the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections. While hearing a petition, the court ruled that winning candidates will not be permitted to hold victory processions on campus, at any hostel, or in any part of the city following the DUSU elections.

The court also stated in its order that strict action would be taken if any violations or incidents occur during the election. With this, the court adjourned the hearing, instructing the Delhi University (DU) administration and Delhi Police to submit a new status report.

A bench of Chief Justice DK Upadhyay and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela said it was not interfering with the elections, but could suspend the Delhi University Students' Union office bearers from functioning if they were not conducted in a "satisfactory order."

The bench directed the Delhi Police, DU authorities, and the civil administration to take all possible and appropriate steps to prevent any untoward incident during the DUSU elections and ensure that there are no violations of rules during the elections.

Campaigning for the DUSU elections concluded at 8 am on Wednesday. On Tuesday, the final day, candidates put their full effort into campaigning, organising rallies, roadshows and door-to-door campaigns in the colleges.
