A 25-year-old man was beaten to death, allegedly by construction workers, on suspicion of theft in South Extension Part-II on Thursday night. The police have detained five workers in connection with the incident.
Discovery Of The Body
The police received information at 10:30 am regarding a body lying near a construction site. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered the body of a young man bearing signs of serious injuries.
Identification: The deceased was identified as Gurmeet Singh, alias Prince, a resident of Andrews Ganj.
The Incident
Preliminary investigations reveal that Singh had entered the under-construction site late Thursday night with the intent to steal. He was reportedly caught by the laborers staying at the site, who brutally beaten him. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Police Investigation
The police have launched a thorough probe into the matter.
Detentions: Five workers present at the site have been taken into custody for questioning.
Forensics: A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) visited the crime scene to collect evidence.

Surveillance: Police are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area to establish the exact sequence of events.
Official Statement
The Station House Officer of Hauz Khas stated that the investigation covers all aspects of the incident. The accused are currently being interrogated, and further legal action will follow based on the findings.
