Mickey Mouse was created in 1928 by American animation film producer Walt Disney, along with animator and cartoonist Ub Iwerks. This happened right after Walt Disney lost the rights to his first successful character, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, due to a contract dispute with his distributor, Universal Pictures. To keep going, Disney dreamed up a fresh figure - a cheerful, bold little mouse. Because of that thought, today’s Disney world took shape.
