John McCarthy is widely acclaimed as the father of AI, who at the Dartmouth Conference in 1956 coined the term Artificial Intelligence.

McCarthy hosted the Dartmouth Conference and brought together leaders, like Marvin Minsky, who penned down the discussion about machines that can simulate human intelligence. He designed Lisp, the earliest programming language of symbolic computation, which made AI research possible by manipulating lists and logic other than numbers.
