Expensive Chinese Airport Lounge:  A highly exclusive airport lounge in China recently stirred controversy, across the globe, because to get an entry in this lounge, you need to prove that your total assets are at least worth 20 million yuan, which approximately sums up to Rs 24.2 crores. As per the South China Morning Post, this airport lounge is the international First Class Lounge at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport. The policy is made to make sure the standards of quality service are maintained by limiting access to only the ultra-rich people.

Traditionally, airport lounges are made to make passengers feel comfortable and at peace from hustly-bustly busy terminals while they wait for their flights. These lounges are all about expensive amenities like complimentary food and drinks, Wi-Fi, calm workspaces, and other premium services. Access to these lounges is usually given to passengers with first or business class tickets. However, access to these premium lounges in some places is also given based on airline loyalty programs, special premium credit cards, or unique day passes. However, this Chinese lounge takes exclusivity to the next level by demanding asset verification, along with flight class.
