AP Sankranthi Holidays 2024: The government of Andhra Pradesh recently announced that the Andhra Pradesh Sankranti school holidays 2024 will be extended by two days. Sankranti holiday extended to January 19 and 20, as per a notice issued by the Commissioner of School Education on Wednesday. Accordingly, on Monday, January 22, 2024, schools are scheduled to reopen. Students and parents are advised to contact their respective schools to know the status of the AP Sankranthi Holidays 2024.
In earlier notification, Andhra Pradesh schools observed a 10-day holiday from January 9 to January 18 in observance of Sankranti. The state of Telangana also observed a holiday from January 12 to 17. Schools for intermediate levels closures occurred on January 12 and reopened on January 17. The dates of the TS Inter final exams are set for February 29 to March 19.
In order to make up for the lengthier vacations, the Education Department has sent out a notice to all District Education Officers in the State, instructing them to plan make-up classes for these two extra days during the next General vacations in the Academic Year 2023–2024. Headmasters of every kind of school, including assisted, private, public, and ZPP/MPP, are instructed to adhere to these guidelines.

The inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22 has also sparked speculations that academic institutions would get an additional day off. But as of yet, no official announcement on this possible holiday has been made. Some schools have already announced holidays for educational institutions in advance of the inauguration.
