AP, TS School Holiday News: In observance of Mahashivratri, the governments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have declared that the state's schools will be closed for three days. This year, it falls on Friday, March 8. Although the government has only declared a vacation for employees and students on the first day of Shivratri, the event is commemorated for three days every year. Given that the following day is the second Saturday, followed by Sunday, this year will witness three consecutive days of holiday. The education department has accordingly issued a notification approving a three-day holiday.

Apart from the holiday on Maha Shivratri, schools will also observe closures on March 25, 2024, for Holi and on March 29, 2024, for Good Friday. Separate circulars regarding these holiday announcements will be issued by the authority.

Moreover, the Telangana state government has sanctioned a holiday on February 8, 2024, in observance of the Shab-e-Meraj festival, recognising the significance of this festival to the Muslim community. Furthermore, schools and colleges in Telangana's Mulugu district remained closed during Medaram Jathara from February 21 to 24, 2024.
