JE Education Desk: The Cabinet has resolved that Graduate and Post Graduate Teachers of Secondary Schools will no longer be required to take the Teachers Eligibility Test or TET. Instead, the TET-cum-Recruitment Test for GT & PGT of Secondary Schools will be administered by the state government. By implementing the TET-cum-recruitment test, Assam hopes to guarantee that all of its educators are highly trained and knowledgeable in the fields in which they teach.
It should be noted that the TET exam is a prerequisite for teaching positions in India. Graduate and postgraduate instructors who were previously forced to take the exam have now received respite from the Assam Government.
The news has been released by the Assam education minister, Ranoj Pegu on his official handle. He tweeted, "Assam Cabinet Decides: TET will not be required for Graduate and Post Graduate Teachers of Secondary Schools. Assam will conduct TET-cum-Recruitment Test for GT & PGT of Secondary Schools. Successful candidates will be equal to the number of vacancies."
