Assam HSLC Exam 2024: The Assam HSLC exam 2024 is likely to be conducted from the first week of February. However, the exact date and time of the exam are yet to be announced by the board. The board has issued an important notice, revealing the HSLC exam date, implementing OMR sheets for objective-type questions, and outlining the eligibility criteria for class 10th board exam participation.

The notice specifies that the Assam HSLC exam 2024 will feature the introduction of OMR sheets for responding to objective-type questions. Moreover, the board has instructed that sealed cartons or boxes containing confidential materials should not be opened within the secure premises of a police station or police outpost. SEBA has made a request to the Inspector of Schools to ensure that students are informed in advance about the alterations to the examination process.

The Board has also introduced changes for the class 10th exam 2024. This time, "OMR sheet will be introduced for answering objective type questions (50% of total marks) carrying 1 mark each in case of core subjects, i.e., English (C1), General Mathematics (C2), General Science (C3) and Social Science (C4). The OMR will be personalized, therefore there will be one OMR sheet in the name of a particular candidate.," reads the official notification.

According to the notification, OMR sheets will be provided for 50 per cent of the total questions, while for the remaining 50 questions, the traditional separate answer scripts with 16 pages will continue to be provided, as previously done.

The Board has also disclosed the eligibility criteria for students to participate in the HSLC Examination 2024:

- Students who participated in Unit Test 1 (except those who did not pass the HSLC Examination 2023) and consistently attend classes, with plans to take subsequent examinations such as Unit Test-II, Half-Yearly Examination, and Pre-Board Examination.

- Candidates who were unsuccessful in the HSLC Examination 2023 but have been readmitted to class 10th and have not had the opportunity to appear in Unit Test-II and Pre-Board Examination.
