Bangalore School Holiday Update: Cyclone Fengal has triggered heavy rainfall across the southern districts of Karnataka, leading authorities to declare holidays for schools and colleges in several areas. However, Bengaluru schools are open, authorities have not announced any holidays.

In districts like Dakshina Kannada, Kodagu, Chamarajanagar, Udupi, Mysuru, and Chikkaballapur, District Collectors have announced holidays for schools and colleges on Tuesday. In Chamarajanagar, all institutions except degree colleges conducting exams have been closed. Similarly, in Chikkamagaluru, the holiday applies to primary schools, high schools, and Anganwadis.

The Meteorological Department has forecasted rainfall in the city for the next three days due to the impact of Cyclone Fengal. Following days of rain in Chennai, weather conditions have also deteriorated in Bengaluru, parts of Karnataka, and Kerala. The disturbance in the Bay of Bengal has moved inland, bringing light to moderate rainfall to the region.

While parts of Bengaluru have experienced heavy rainfall at times, the city has mostly seen steady drizzles. Parents and students have started demanding school closures today, but no official announcement regarding school holidays in Bengaluru has been made yet.
