Chennai Floods: The semester exams for undergraduate and postgraduate students at Bharathidasan University (BDU) and its affiliated colleges have been postponed due to the severe rainfall that caused extensive damage in Chennai and its neighboring regions. Earlier, the semester examination was slated to be held between December 11 and December 16, 2023. However, the new dates of the examination have not been announced by the university yet. Candidates can check the official notification at bdu.ac.in.

“As per order of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor in view, term examinations for Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree from 11-12-2023 to 16-12-2023 are postponed due to incapacity. The schedule for the above postponed dates will be announced later,” reads the official notification.

According to media reports, the reason for this delay is the difficulties encountered during the printing of test questions, which are made worse by Chennai's bad weather. The region's recent rainfall has severely hindered the transport and production of these essential exam materials.

The Controller of Examinations stated in a formal statement that a revised exam schedule will be released as soon as possible. The postponement has been officially communicated to all BDU-affiliated colleges, and steps are being taken to lessen the interruptions brought on by Chennai's adverse weather.
