When Will Summer Vacation Start in Delhi Schools?

The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert due to rising temperatures in the capital. To ensure the safety of students, authorities have started taking precautionary measures in schools. One such initiative is the “Water Bell”, which reminds students to drink water regularly to avoid dehydration during extreme heat.

According to the academic calendar released by the Directorate of Education, Delhi, summer vacations in government and aided schools are expected to begin from May 11, 2026. The break may continue until June 30, following the pattern of previous years. Teachers are usually asked to return to school a few days earlier for administrative work before classes resume.

In many parts of the country, authorities have already taken steps to protect students from heat-related illnesses. States such as Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Kerala have already started summer vacations in schools, while some states have changed school timings to early morning hours.
