JE Education Desk: Delhi University will shortly alter the PG programs after simplifying UG programs under National Education Policy 2020. The University said during a press conference presided over by DU Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh that alignment of Post Graduate programs with NEP 2020 is in the works and might be implemented by the 2024 or 2025 academic year. In addition, the Chancellor stated that Central University would continue to provide PG courses for both one and two years to aid students.

According to National Education Policy, undergraduate students have the choice of finishing their course with a degree or conducting research. Thus, students with a four-year undergraduate degree can choose a one-year master's program in the field, while those with a three-year undergraduate degree can choose Delhi University's two-year master's program. It should be noted that NEP implementation for graduate courses is still in progress, and DU has not yet confirmed the rules for master's degree courses.

Central University offers students a variety of entry and departure points and gives them the freedom to select a course based on their interests and abilities. What NEP 2020 has to say regarding higher education in India is as follows:

- The country will add almost 5 crore places for higher education.

- The creation of a single regulator for higher education is advised by NEP 2020. It will take the name Higher Education Commission of India (HECI) and will take the place of other regulating organizations.

- To encourage the use of technology in higher education, the National Education Policy 2020 suggests creating the National Educational Technology Forum (NETF).

- The National Education Policy placed a strong emphasis on creating a Gender Inclusion Fund to provide female and transgender children with an equitable and high-quality education.

- Special Education Zones will be established for underprivileged regions and groups to make higher education more accessible to students.
