DU UG Admission 2024: Delhi University (DU) has confirmed 74,108 seat allocations for its 71,600 undergraduate seats so far, including 764 under the new supernumerary quota for single girl children.
The university released the allocations from the third round of admissions, which began on August 31. The allocation also includes 132 seats for orphan students, a supernumerary quota introduced last year to support children affected by Covid-19.
The single girl child quota reserves one seat per program across DU colleges, while the orphan quota reserves one seat each for a male and a female in each program.
Out of the total confirmed students for the academic session 2024-25, 28,810 applicants have requested an upgrade to seek a higher choice of college and course combination. Meanwhile, 45,298 applicants have chosen to freeze their admission, accepting the allocations made.

Admissions in this phase will include performance-based programs and supernumerary quotas, including those for children of widows of armed forces personnel (CW), and special achievements in extra-curricular activities (ECA) and sports.
According to the data released by the university, ECA allocations stand at 1,061, sports allocations at 1,648, and performance-based allocations at 332. The seat allotment for the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and CW category is still pending and will be announced soon, DU stated.
