DUSU Elections 2025: The Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections were conducted on September 18, 2025. Over 2.75 lakh students were expected to participate in the voting process. The voting took place between ABVP, NSUI, and SFI-AISA as the major participants. There were extreme security arrangements as well as malpractice in the election process was prohibited.
As per the official report, this time the voting procedures are expected to be more regulated. This is one of the biggest student elections conducted in the country. The voting took place in two different shifts, first shift from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm for day classes whereas the second shift from 3:00 pm to 7:30 pm for evening classes. The counting of votes is conducted today on Friday, September 19, 2025 amid tight security.
DUSU Election 2025: Voting Percentage
According to several media reports, by 2:30 pm, the voting percentage had been recorded at 35%, highlighting strong participation. By the end of the election voting, over 1,55,000 students had voted, bringing the overall voting percentage to 39.45% in 195 booths at the 52 election centres.
DUSU Elections 2025: Contenders Name
The contenders for the position of the President include big names such as Joslyn Nandita Choudhary from NSUI, Aryan Maan from ABVP, and Anjali from the SFI-AISA alliance.
This year, 21 candidates are contesting for the four main student body positions- President, Vice President, Secretary, and Joint Secretary. Out of these, nine contestants are competing for the President's seat, whereas the remaining 12 are contesting the other three remaining positions.
DUSU Election 2025: Celebration Process
The Delhi High Court has ordered the candidates and student groups from conducting victory processions or celebratory parades after the DUSU Elections 2025 result are announced, asking the Delhi Police, DU administration, and city government to take adequate and strict measures to avoid any consequences.
Polling was conducted at 52 centres with a total of 195 booths, where 711 Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) were deployed for students to vote for their chosen candidate. The final voting percentage turnout stood at 39.45 percent.
