Film And TV Courses InJharkhand: Jharkhand is set to host the country's third film and television institute, developed in collaboration with the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata. The state government will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the institute on 22 July, in the presence of Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
The partnership aims to train skilled professionals in filmmaking and strengthen the state's film ecosystem, while also creating new opportunities in media, tourism, and the creative economy.
MoU Signing Ceremony
The MoU will be signed on 22 July between the Jharkhand Film Development Corporation and the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata. Chief Minister Hemant Soren will attend the ceremony, underlining the state government's commitment to building a strong creative and cultural ecosystem.
Courses to Be Offered
The new institute will run industry-based courses covering filmmaking, acting, content writing, direction, cinematography, editing, and animation. These courses are designed to give young people practical, hands-on training and open doors to careers across the film and entertainment industry.
Funding and Operations
The institute will initially operate from the Information Bhawan. It will be fully funded and managed by the Jharkhand Film Development Corporation (JFDCL). Notably, another such institute already exists in Pune.
