Gujarat Class 10, 12 Board Exam 2025: In accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP 2020), the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary has revised the Class 9 and Class 11 exam pattern after a ten-year break. In order to replicate the format of the GSEB Class 10, and 12 board exam in 2025, the question paper format will now consist of 70% descriptive and 30% objective questions.

To ensure consistency in the examination pattern and a seamless transition to the Class 10 and 12 board exams, the test format for Classes 9 and 11 has been modified for the 2024–2025 academic year.

The main topics' question paper formats, grades, and sample questions for Classes 9 and 11 have been forwarded to the appropriate schools. Nearly 15 lakh students will be impacted by the decision, which attempts to lower the number of failing students.

Some topics still use the same format for their question papers. Six topics in Class 9—computer studies, music, yoga, health and physical education, agriculture, animal husbandry and dairy science, and home science—retain the current format. The computer studies, music, yoga, health, and physical education test patterns for Class 11 have not been changed.

GSEB Class 9, 11 question pattern

The Gujarat Board has revised the syllabus for Classes 9 and 11, giving objective-style questions a 30% weight increase. In the past, students were required to attempt 80% descriptive and 20% objective questions.

Up until last year, the board gave pupils internal choices from which they had to choose between the two questions. However, according to the Ahmedabad Mirror, students will be offered five options under the revised exam pattern, from which they can attempt any two or three questions.

All streams, including science, commencement, Sanskrit prathama, and madhyama, will use the new test format. According to reports, the board has already developed the Class 11 syllabus and sample question paper for the following subjects: Gujarati, Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, Psychology, Sociology, History, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
