Haryana School Holiday: All schools in the Panchkula district of Haryana will be closed for two days in observance of the State Assembly Elections. Educational institutions will shut down on October 4 and 5, 2024. Parents and students are advised to reach out to their respective schools for further information.
According to media reports, Deputy Commissioner Yash Garg stated, “In view of the assembly elections, holiday had been declared in all schools, including government and private schools, of the district on these two days.’’
The district education officer and district elementary education officer have been instructed to ensure compliance with the established rules. Yash Garg noted that on October 4, teachers assigned to election duties must report to their designated locations, from where they will be taken to the voting stations.
Haryana's Chief Electoral Officer, Pankaj Agarwal, stated that control rooms have been established at the state, district, and assembly levels to monitor webcasting at polling stations during the assembly elections. Polling for the 90-member legislative assembly seats is set to take place on Saturday, with the vote counting scheduled for October 8.
