UPSC Civil Services Inspiring Story: Candidates appointed to services like IAS, IPS, IFS and IRS hold distinguished positions in society. clearing the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) is one of the toughest tasks In India; yet Annually, a significant number of young aspirants take the UPSC CSE exam. Nonetheless, only a limited percentage crack the civil services examination. One such inspiring success story is that of Awanish Sharan, whose success story serves as a guiding light for UPSC aspirants across India.
In a small town in Bihar, a young boy went to a government school where he was seen as below average. He was not at the top of his class and did not get the highest marks like the top student. When he received his class 10 results, he scored only 44.7 per cent. Many students would have given up on their dreams with such a score.
But Awanish Sharan was different. He believed that marks do not measure his potential. Although he scored 65 per cent in class 12 and 60 per cent in graduation, he kept his dream alive to become an IAS officer.

The path ahead was not easy. Awanish faced failure after failure. He took the state PCS exam and failed. Not once, but ten times. He tried the CDS exam and failed. He attempted the CPF exam and failed again.
Most people would have given up after so many setbacks. But Awanish had a different mindset. Each failure became a lesson. Each failure brought him closer to his Success. This mindset helped him stay focused and motivated, ultimately leading to his success.
Achieving Success:
In his first attempt at the UPSC Civil Services Exam, he reached the interview round but did not make the final list. Instead of feeling discouraged, he worked even harder.
The next year, something remarkable happened. Awanish Sharan, the student who once scored 44.7 Per cent in class 10, achieved what many thought was impossible. On his second attempt, he successfully secured the 77th rank, earning the title of an IAS officer.
In 2009, he finally realized his dream of becoming an IAS officer. Today, he serves the people of Bilaspur district in Chhattisgarh and inspires millions with his story.
