In a major push towards global academic collaboration, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhilai has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with IMT Nord Europe, France. This landmark agreement will enable joint UG and PG degree programs, allowing students from both institutions to experience dual-campus learning and cross-cultural exposure. The MOU was signed by Prof. Rajiv Prakash, Director of IIT Bhilai, in the presence of representatives from the Office of International Affairs. This collaboration aims to strengthen international partnerships while enhancing students' academic and research capabilities.
The core focus areas of this academic alliance include Mechanical Engineering, Polymer and Composite Materials, Mechatronics, and Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence. These fields have been strategically chosen to meet emerging global demands and to encourage cutting-edge research. Students from IIT Bhilai will now have the opportunity to study at IMT Nord Europe and gain degrees that are internationally recognized, opening doors for global career prospects and academic pursuits.
Apart from academic cooperation, the MOU aims to promote cultural understanding and institutional collaboration between India and France. It establishes a framework for faculty exchange, collaborative research, and curriculum development. The agreement also aligns with India’s broader vision of creating globally competent engineers and researchers. This joint academic initiative not only boosts the profile of IIT Bhilai but also enhances India’s footprint in the international education landscape.
Parallel to this development, the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2025 has started the admission counselling process for 127 top engineering institutes in India. These include 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs, and 46 other Government-Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs). Registration and choice filling for the first round of JoSAA counselling commenced on June 3. Students seeking admission to these premier institutions must register through the official portal: josaa.nic.in.
The JoSAA counselling process will have six standard rounds, after which the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) will conduct two special rounds to fill vacant seats in the NIT+ system. For additional information on these rounds, candidates may refer to csab.nic.in. With this dual development—international academic partnerships and national-level admissions—students now have broader, more diversified opportunities to shape their academic and professional futures.
