According to an official statement, the Council of Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT Council) and the Association of American Universities (AAU) have committed to creating the India-US Global Challenges Institute. Their joint investment for this endeavor is set at a minimum of 10 million US dollars.
The Global Challenges Institute will bring together prominent research and higher education institutions from both countries to advance multiple domains within the realms of science and technology. These areas encompass sustainable energy, agriculture, healthcare, pandemic readiness, semiconductor technology, advanced materials, telecommunications, artificial intelligence, and quantum science. This cooperative effort seeks to tackle worldwide challenges demanding interdisciplinary solutions.
