JEE Main 2025: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the registration process for the JEE Main 2025. The last date to apply will be November 22, 2024. The JEE Main 2025 session exam will be held from January 22 to January 31, 2025. Admit cards will be released three days before the exam begins. Candidates can fill out the JEE Main 2025 application form at jeemain.nta.nic.in.
The NTA has updated the tie-breaking rules for ranking candidates with identical scores. In the revised system, candidates' ages and JEE Main 2025 application numbers are no longer factors in ranking decisions.
"For appearing in the JEE (Main) - 2025, there is no age limit for the candidates. The candidates who have passed the class XII / equivalent examination in 2023 and 2024 or appearing in 2025 irrespective of their age can appear in JEE (Main) - 2025 examination. However, the candidates may be required to fulfill the age criteria of the Institute(s) to which they are desirous of taking admission," reads the notification.
Rankings will now be determined only by candidates' exam performance. If scores are still identical, candidates will share the same JEE Main rank.

JEE Main 2025: Tie-Breaking Rule
For JEE Main 2025, if candidates acquire the same total NTA score, ties will be resolved in the following order:
- Candidate with a higher NTA score in Mathematics
- Candidate with a higher NTA score in Physics
- Candidate with a higher NTA score in Chemistry
- Candidate with a lower ratio of incorrect to correct answers across all subjects
- Candidate with a lower ratio of incorrect to correct answers in Mathematics
- Candidate with a lower ratio of incorrect to correct answers in Physics
- Candidate with a lower ratio of incorrect to correct answers in Chemistry
If a tie persists, candidates will be awarded the same rank.
