Yesterday, NTA announced that the results for the JEE Main Session 1 entrance exam 2026 can now be expected by February 16, 2026. Candidates can download the scorecard PDF from the official website at jeemain.nta.nic.in, using their login credentials. The final answer key can be released anytime soon before the result. Earlier, the results were expected by February 12, 2026. ,

Candidates seeking admission to various NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs but not IITs have to score more than or equal to the cutoff marks. The admission cutoff will be released by the institutes for various courses. For IITs, candidates need to appear for the JEE Advanced exam. Based on its scores, admission will be granted to the engineering courses at various IITs across the country. 

Based on the difficulty level of the JEE Main Session 1 exam, marks above 160 are considered good. This will convert to 97 percentile, which is good for admission to prestigious colleges. Candidates getting marks around 170-180 have a high probability of getting into IITs and NITs for BE/BTech admission. ,

The tie-breaking criteria for Paper 1 are explained below.,

• Higher NTA score in Mathematics,

• Higher NTA score in Physics,

• Higher NTA score in Chemistry,

• Lower correct-to-incorrect ratio in all subjects,

• Lower correct-to-incorrect ratio in Mathematics,

• Lower correct-to-incorrect ratio in Physics,

• Lower correct-to-incorrect ratio in Chemistry,

If the tie remains after applying all the above criteria, the candidates will be awarded the same rank. 

Candidates can follow the given steps to calculate their estimated scores using the final answer key. 

1. Download the answer key PDF once it is released.

2. Match the recorded responses with the correct answers. 

3. Count the total number of correct and incorrect answers. 

4. For each correct answer, award +4 marks. 

5. Deduct -1 for each wrong answer. 

6. Use the following formula to calculate your raw scores:

4*(Number of Correct Answers) - 1*(Number of Wrong Answers),

There are no qualifying marks for the JEE Main entrance exam 2026. However, NTA does announce the JEE Main and Advanced cutoff marks along with the results. Candidates can download the cutoff PDF from the official website at jeemain.nta.nic.in. ,

The JEE Main exam is conducted in multiple days across many shifts. The difficulty level may vary across each shift. To ensure transparency and fairness, NTA uses the normalization process to calculate the JEE Main scores. 

It reflects the percentage of candidates whose raw scores are equal to or lower than the score of a particular candidate within the same session. 

The formula is as follows: 

NTA Score = (100 × Number of candidates in the session with raw scores ≤ candidate’s score) ÷ Total number of candidates in that session

The NTA scores are valid for one academic year. This means that candidates can use the NTA JEE Main Session 1 Main scorecard in the same year as the examination. The scores cannot be used for the next admission cycle. Candidates have to reattempt the exam again if they want admission in the next exam cycle. ,

According to NTA’s notification, the result for JEE Main session 1 will be out on or before February 16, 2026, on its official website at jeemain.nta.nic.in. NTA has not announced any specific release time for the results yet. However, as per exam trends, it is expected that the results may be out by late at night. ,

The JEE Main Session 1 result PDF will have the following details:,

• Application number,

• JEE Main session 1 roll number,

• Mother’s name,

• Father’s name,

• Category,

• PwD status,

• Gender,

• Date of birth,

• Nationality,

• State of eligibility,

• Percentile mark in Maths,

• Percentile mark in Chemistry,

• Percentile mark in Physics,

• Percentile marks in Total,

Once the result link is active, candidates can download the result PDF using their application number and password or date of birth. NTA will soon release the final answer key PDF at jeemain.nta.nic.in for the Session 1 JEE Main exam 2026. Earlier, the exam was held on January 21, 22, 23, 24, and 28. The final answer key will be released, including all revised answers, if any, after resolving candidates’ queries.  For each question dropped, aspirants will get bonus marks as applicable. 

JEE Main 2026 was held in two shifts daily for admission to  B.E/B.Tech courses across various colleges in the country. ,
