Kendriya Vidayalayas: For Government Employee Children
Kendriya Vidyalayas were initially established for the children of the central government employees who have transferable jobs. These KV’s are considered as the most prestigious government schools in the country, that’s why these schools belong to government employee kids primarily.
The decrease in the number of students enrolment is being noticed at a time when the central government has approved the project of 85 new Kendriya Vidyalayas in December 2023 for establishment. The Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan mentioned in the Parliament that along with these new schools opening and the expansion of existing KV schools in Shivamogga, Karnataka, all these projects will cost around Rs 5,872 crore.
