Kerala School Holiday Tomorrow: Check District-wise Schools Closure Updates For 11 December Due To Local Body Elections 2025

Kerala School Holiday 2025-26: All government and private schools in Kerala will stay closed today and on December 11 because of the local body elections. Students and parents can contact their school if they have any questions.

The Kerala local body elections 2025 will be held in two rounds on December 9 and December 11, from 7 AM to 6 PM. The counting of votes will take place on December 13. Voting will happen in 1,199 out of the 1,200 local bodies in the state.

December 11th will be a holiday in these districts

On December 11th, 2025, there will be a public holiday in the following districts:

-Thrissur

-Palakkad

-Malappuram

-Kozhikode

-Wayanad

-Kannur

-Kasaragod

This holiday has also been declared in view of the local body elections.

Employees on duty on election day will receive special benefits:

As per government instructions, if a government employee votes in the local body constituency where the election is being held, but is on duty in another district where there is no holiday, such employees will be given special benefits (Special Leave Provision).

However, this special leave will not be added to other holidays such as Casual Leave (CL), Commuted Leave, and Earned Leave. This will be provided only as an additional facility to ensure participation in voting.
