NBSE Class 8, 9 Phase 1 Exams: The phase 1 and phase 2 Class 8, 9 exams will be held in 2023, according to instructions given by the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE), Kohima. The instructions pdf may be downloaded by students from the Nagaland Board's official website at nbsenl.edu.in.
Phases 1 and 2 of the Class 8 and 9 exams will be administered by the NBSE. The first phase of the exam will run from September 21 through September 27. Core subjects have a 90-minute time limit, while vocational subjects only have a 60-minute time limit. The phase 2 exam will take place in December, and the board will soon announce the exam schedule.
The board has previously posted a subject-by-subject breakdown of the curriculum for both phases on its website. All of the headmasters and principals of all the schools have been alerted by NBSE to make “Students aware of the division in the syllabus for the two phases of examinations.”
The topical breakdown and weighting for the Class 8 and Class 9 question papers are available on the board's website. According to NBSE, each school will receive question papers for all of the courses for the Class 9 exams.

On September 16, the board will upload a password file to its portal. For the password file to be downloaded, the schools will need to log in. According to the procedure, phase 1 test question papers will be released as password-protected pdf files to the NBSE portal one day before the exam at 10 a.m. for each topic.
After the phase 2 tests are finished, the schools will create the final results, which will include the internal evaluation. The consolidated marks of both phases with the internal assessment will then be submitted to the board's office.
“The Board will provide Class 8 question paper to all government schools, whereas the private schools shall prepare their own question paper based on the design of question paper uploaded in the portal and conduct the examination with the same routine for Class 8 examination 2023” the Nagaland board stated.
The board has also quoted, “Private schools will have to prepare the Class 8 question papers for phase 1 as per the board guidelines and will have to mail the question paper in pdf format to nbseqpaper@gmail.com till October 10, 2023, after the exams have been conducted.”
