NEET PG 2024 Exam Postponement: The Supreme Court will hear a petition tomorrow, August 8, 2024, regarding the postponement of the NEET-PG 2024 exam scheduled for August 11. The plea requests a delay in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Postgraduate (NEET-PG).

The petitioner has raised concerns about the difficulties applicants face due to the delayed assignment of exam cities. They argue that the short notice has created significant challenges for students to travel to their assigned cities, especially with restricted rail availability and rising airfares, as per the media reports.

Attorney Anas Tanwir brought up the urgent hearing petition to India's Chief Justice, DY Chandrachud, this morning. The Chief Justice responded by scheduling the case for hearing on the following day, according to Live Law.

Petitioner's Cause

It is reported that test cities were assigned on July 31, with designated centers to be announced on August 8. Despite these measures being implemented to prevent examination malpractice, the petitioner argues that the short notice has made it extremely challenging for students to arrange travel to their preferred locations.

In addition to requesting a postponement of the test, the petitioner also seeks to have the normalisation formula for the four sets of question papers disclosed. This measure is intended to eliminate any potential procedural arbitrariness.
