NEET PG 2024 Result Controversy: The Supreme Court is expected to deliver its final verdict on the NEET PG 2024 counselling-related petitions today, January 8, 2025. The hearing, initially scheduled for January 7, was postponed as the bench of Justices BR Gavai and AG Masih cited ongoing proceedings as the reason for the delay. The petitioners were instructed to present the case the next day.
Justice Gavai, addressing the petitioner’s counsel, remarked, "Just ask someone to mention the matter tomorrow. If counselling is over, we will dispose of the matter. It's not like we will order fresh counselling," as reported by LiveLaw.
The petition seeks greater transparency in the NEET PG 2024 exam process, demanding the release of answer keys and question papers. It also challenges the last-minute changes to the exam format, caliming that they violate the guidelines set by the National Board of Examinations (NBE).

After the results were declared on August 23, 2024, students alleged a lack of transparency in the examination process and questioned the functioning of the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). The controversy deepened as the NBE refused to release the answer key, raw marks, and normalised scores, citing confidentiality as a fundamental aspect of its admission policy.
With no action taken to address their grievances, students took the matter to the Supreme Court. The primary petition calls for the disclosure of answer keys and question papers for NEET PG 2024, along with additional steps to improve transparency in the examination and evaluation processes.
