What is the Percentile Score?

According to the AIIMS Delhi notice, the Percentile Score represents the percentage of candidates who have scored equal to or below a particular raw score in the examination. In other words, the candidate with the highest score in each group (shift) will receive a Percentile Score of 100, which is ideal. Scores between the highest and lowest are then converted to appropriate Percentile Scores.

The notice also stated that Percentile Scores will be calculated to seven decimal places to minimise clustering and reduce ties.

“In this method of scoring, the HIGHEST SCORE in each paper (irrespective of the raw scores/percentage obtained) will be the 100 Percentile indicating that 100% of candidates have scored equal to or lesser than the highest scorer/ topper for that shift,” it added.

The lowest score will have a percentile based on the total number of candidates who have taken the examination.
