NEET PG 2025 Exam Postponed: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has postponed the NEET PG 2025 examination, which was earlier scheduled for June 15. The decision comes after the Supreme Court directed the exam be held in a single shift to ensure transparency and fairness.
Why NEET PG 2025 Exams Are Postponed?
Candidates had previously raised concerns over the two-shift exam format used in NEET PG, highlighting issues like inconsistency in question paper difficulty and the reliability of score normalisation. Many aspirants had urged the authorities to bring back the traditional single-shift model to maintain uniformity in evaluation.
In response to these concerns, and following the Supreme Court’s directive, NBEMS has decided to conduct the NEET PG 2025 exam in one shift across the country. However, this change requires logistical arrangements such as increasing the number of exam centres to accommodate all candidates at once. Due to this, the exam has been postponed and fresh dates will be announced soon.
NEET PG 2025 Exams Postponed: NBEMS Official Notification
As per the official notification released by NBEMS on June 2, revised dates for the NEET PG 2025 examination, city intimation slips and admit cards will be shared shortly. Earlier, the city intimation slips were expected to be released on the same day, but the process is now on hold.
NEET PG is a national-level examination conducted for medical graduates aspiring to pursue postgraduate medical education in India. It is the qualifying exam for MD, MS and PG Diploma programmes. The counselling process that follows the exam is managed by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for 50 per cent All India Quota seats. The remaining seats are filled through state-level counselling.
