NEET PG Counselling 2024: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced a major reduction in the NEET PG Counselling 2024 cut-off percentile. This decision, made by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) in collaboration with the National Medical Commission (NMC), aims to increase the number of eligible candidates for admission.
“It is for the information to candidates that as per the decision taken by MoHFW in consultation with NMC, the percentile for NEET PG counselling 2024 has been lowered," reads the notification.
According to the notification, candidates from the General and EWS categories who score 15 percentile or higher will qualify for counselling. Meanwhile, candidates from SC, ST, OBC, and PwD categories can participate in counselling with a minimum score of 10 percentile.
The NEET PG cut-off percentile was previously set at the 50th percentile for unreserved categories, 45th percentile for PwD candidates, and 40th percentile for reserved category students.
In the last academic year, the NEET PG qualifying percentile was reduced to zero across all categories. In 2022, the cut-off for general category candidates was lowered from the 50th percentile to the 35th percentile. For unreserved PwD candidates, it was reduced from the 45th percentile to the 20th percentile, while the cut-off for SC, ST, and OBC candidates (including PwD in these categories) was dropped from the 40th percentile to the 20th percentile.
