NEET UG Re-Exam 2024: The NEET re-exam for 1,563 applicants who received grace marks will take place on June 23 from 2 pm to 5 pm, according to notification from the National Testing Agency (NTA). According to NTA, these candidates' National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) results for 2024 will likely be released on June 30. Following a significant dispute over the awarding of grace marks, the Supreme Court today revoked the NEET 2024 results for these candidates.

The testing organization decided to retake the exam in response to the suggestions of the "high-powered" committee that was established to investigate the complaints made by NEET applicants regarding the grace marks awarded to certain students for tardiness in the May 5 exam.

Numerous applicants, citing irregularities and claims of paper leaks, filed petitions challenging the additional marks in high courts and the top court, demanding a retest.

“The High Powered committee after in-depth consideration of all relevant aspects submitted its recommendations/report which has been accepted by NTA. As per the recommendations of the High Powered Committee, NTA decided to reconduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) [NEET (UG)]-2024 on 23 June 2024 for 1563 candidates who had experienced time loss during the originally scheduled examination on 05 May 2024 and were awarded compensatory marks,” NTA said in an official statement.

“The fresh score card after the examination in case the candidate appears for the re-examination will be hosted on the website after the examination,” it added.

The NTA reiterated that only those who received "compensatory marks" in the first revaluation will be eligible for the reexamination. According to the notification, students who choose not to retake the June 23 NEET 2024 exam will need to accept their true results, which were obtained before the inclusion of bonus points.

The NTA also stated that students who are concerned will receive their NEET UG admit card 2024 later.

The NEET re-exam is only acceptable in the following situations, per NTA:

- The NEET 2024 scorecards for all 1,563 impacted applicants, which were released on June 4, will be cancelled and removed. Through their registered email addresses, the impacted candidates will receive notification of their real scores (free of charge).

- The 1,563 applicants who are impacted will take a new exam.

- The NEET UG result 2024 of the impacted applicants who choose not to retake the test will be announced according to their real marks (without payment) from the May 5 exam.

- The candidates' scores from the retest will be taken into account, while the results from the May 5 exam will be discarded.
