Kerala School Holiday: The Kerala government has declared a public holiday on Monday, October 19, on account of Durgashtami. The order applies to all educational institutions, including private and government schools and colleges. This will give students an extended break ahead of the Durga Puja holidays on October 20 and 21. With a four-day holiday starting from Sunday, students will get ample time to enjoy the festivities of Durga Puja with families and friends. Public Holiday On October 19 Across Kerala
The Kerala General Administration Department has issued an order declaring a public holiday on October 19 for the occasion of Durgashtami. According to it, the holiday will apply to the following institutions:
1. Government and quasi-government offices
2. Public sector undertakings
3. Institutions covered under the Negotiable Instruments Act
4. Schools and colleges
5. Professional educational institutions

Dussehra Holidays In Schools And Colleges
All schools and colleges will remain closed on October 20 and 21 for Mahanavami and Dussehra across Kerala. However, Dussehra holidays will vary across India depending on the state and district schedules.
As per media reports, schools in Telangana will be closed until October 22 for Dussehra. Meanwhile, West Bengal schools and colleges will have Dussehra holidays until October 26.
Schools and colleges across Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi National Capital Region will also be closed for Dussehra on October 20.
