OSSSC CRE Recruitment 2026: The Odisha Sub-Ordinate Staff Selection Commission CRE registration window will close on February 15, 2026. Fresh candidates who have not registered yet can complete their online registration by February 15 and submit the online application form by February 22, 2026. Candidates who have already registered can log in again for re-registration using their existing user ID only through the official website osssc.gov.in.

OSSSC CRE Recruitment 2026: Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the 1,518 forester and forest guard posts, applicants have to meet the following eligibility parameters:

1. Educational Qualification:  Applicants must have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent for the post of Forester

  • High School Certificate Examination or equivalent for Forest Guard

  • Plus Two examination or equivalent for Excise Constable

2. Age Limit:  For the OSSSC CRE recruitment, the age limit varies by post. Candidates have to read the detailed notification to know about the age parameters and relaxation benefits. 

3. Language Proficiency:  Applicants must be well conversant with Odia. 

4. Physical Health: They must meet the physical health standards for the post of  Forest Guard and Excise Constable. 

OSSSC CRE Recruitment 2026: Post-Wise Vacancy

All posts under this recruitment are Group C posts and are filled at the district, circle, or division level. Shortlisted candidates will be posted at their respective district, circle, or division. The post-wise vacancies are as follows: 

  • Forester: 47 posts

  • Forest Guard: 896 posts

  • Excise Constable: 575 posts

OSSSC CRE Recruitment 2026: Pay Scale

Candidates selected as Forester, Forest Guard, and Exercise Constable are paid under different matrix levels as set by the authorities.

  • Forester: Pay Matrix Level 7, Cell 1

  • Forest Guard: Pay Matrix Level 4, Cell 1

  • Excise Constable: Pay Matrix Level 4, Cell 1
