QS World University Asia Rankings 2025: Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) has released the World University Rankings for Asia 2025 on its official website, featuring 22 universities from India. Out of 984 institutions listed across Asia, these 22 represent India's top place, with six universities securing positions within Asia's top 100.
Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) leads among Indian institutions, ranking 44th position, followed by the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) at 48th and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) at 56th position. These three institutions are India's highest-ranking universities in the QS Asia rankings.
The QS rankings for the top three universities in Asia have remained unchanged, but their scores have seen improvement. Peking University continues to lead the QS World University Rankings for Asia in 2025, retaining its perfect score of 100, matching its 2024 performance. The University of Hong Kong remains in second place, with an improved score of 99.7, up from 97.9 last year. Meanwhile, the National University of Singapore (NUS) holds its third-place position, achieving a score of 98.9, compared to 97.2 in 2024.
The QS rankings assess universities based on several key indicators: International Faculty, Staff with PhDs, Faculty-to-Student Ratio, Inbound Exchange, Academic Reputation, Citations per Paper, Papers per Faculty, International Research Network, International Students, Outbound Exchange, and Employer Reputation.
