Rajasthan Schools Timings: The Education Department has directed all government and private schools in Rajasthan to operate on a synchronised schedule. All such schools will start and end their sessions at the same time. This directive was issued on Wednesday.
According to the order, during winter, single-shift schools will operate from 10 AM to 4 PM, while two-shift schools will begin from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Each shift in two-shift schools will be limited to five hours during winter.
In summer, single-shift schools will operate from 7:30 AM to 1 PM, while two-shift schools will run from 7 AM to 6 PM. Each shift in two-shift schools during summer will last five and a half hours. However, during winter, two-shift schools will have 30 minutes less class time.

Ashish Modi, Director of Secondary Education noted that some private schools in the state are not fully adhering to the academic calendar. Despite the onset of winter, these schools are operating early in the morning, adversely affecting students' health. If any private school fails to comply with the calendar, action will be taken under the Rajasthan Non-Government Educational Institutions Act. This may include revocation of the school’s recognition, as per the local media reports.
