RRB NTPC Exam Pattern 2025:
To Clear the Railway RRB NTPC 2025 exam, it is necessary to know the Exam pattern and detailed syllabus of the RRB NTPC exam. This will help you to prepare your study according to a systematic plan for the RRB NTPC 2025 Exam. Let’s understand the RRB NTPC Exam Pattern and Selection Process.
The recruitment process consists of multiple stages:
Stage 1: Computer-Based Test (CBT-1)
Stage 2: Computer-Based Test (CBT-2)
Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) (Only for Station Master posts)
Typing Skill Test (TST) (For Senior Clerk & Junior Account Assistant posts)
Document Verification (DV)
RRB NTPC Stage-1 Exam Pattern 2025:
The first stage of the Computer-Based Test (CBT) serves a screening purpose, and the questions will generally align with the educational standards set for the respective positions.
Candidates with disabilities (PWD) will have a total exam duration of 120 minutes.
There will be a penalty for incorrect answers, with one-third of a mark deducted for each wrong response.
The number of candidates selected for the next stage will be 20 times the number of vacancies available in each community, based on their merit in the first stage of the CBT and their preferred posts.
The normalized scores from the first stage of the CBT will be utilized to shortlist candidates for the second stage, according to their merit.

Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories: UR-40%, EWS40%, OBC (Non creamy layer) -30%, SC-30%, ST-25%. These percentages of marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2% for PwBD candidates in case of a shortage of PwBD candidates against vacancies reserved for them.
3. RRB NTPC Stage-2 Exam Pattern (CBT-2)
Candidates who are selected for the 2nd Stage CBT and are utilizing reservation benefits for OBC(NCL), SC, ST, EWS, PwBD, and ExSM will be considered exclusively within their respective categories for all further stages of the recruitment process.
- The examination duration for PWD candidates is set at 120 minutes.
- There will be a negative marking of one-third for incorrect answers.
- The difficulty level of the questions will vary according to the different positions.
- Additionally, marks will be normalized.

RRB NTPC Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) 2025:
CBAT will be administered exclusively for those candidates who have selected the Station Master position.
- To qualify, candidates must achieve a minimum T-Score of 42 Marks in each test battery.
- This requirement is applicable to all candidates, regardless of their community or category, and no exemptions from the minimum T-Score will be granted.
- Candidates must pass each test battery of the CBAT to be considered for the roles of Station Master or Traffic Assistant.
- The CBAT will provide question-and-answer options solely in English and Hindi.
- There will be no negative marking in the CBAT.
- The merit list will be compiled only from candidates who qualify in the CBAT, with 70% of the weightage based on the scores obtained.
RRB NTPC Typing Skill Test (TST):
The candidates who have applied for Senior Clerk cum Typist and Junior Account Assistant cum Typist posts have to go through Typing Skill Test after CBT-1 and CBT-2.
Qualifying in nature.
Eight times the number of vacancies will be called for typing test.
The candidates should be able to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on a Personal Computer.
RRB NTPC Document Verification (DV):
Candidates will be invited for Document Verification according to their merit and preferences, based on their performance in the 2nd Stage CBT and, where applicable, in both the 2nd Stage CBT and CBAT/TST. This invitation will be extended to a number of candidates equal to the available vacancies.
