School Holidays 2025: Winter school holidays provide students and teachers a much-needed break to rest and rejuvenate during the coldest time of the year. Across various states in India, these holidays are often scheduled between late December and mid-January, coinciding with extreme weather conditions. This year, many states have extended the holidays due to an intense cold wave, prioritising the safety and well-being of students. While the reopening dates vary, they are subject to changes based on local weather conditions. Parents and students are advised to stay updated through official announcements from respective state education departments for accurate schedules.

Delhi School Holidays 2025

The Directorate of Education (DoE), Delhi, has announced the winter break for all government schools from January 1 to January 15, 2025. Regular classes will resume on January 16. However, remedial classes are being conducted during the break to support the academic progress of students in Classes 9 to 12.

UP Schools Holidays 2025

In view of the cold weather, holidays have been declared in Kasturba Gandhi Residential Schools until January 10. Meanwhile, holidays for students of Classes 6 to 8 in secondary schools have been extended until further notice, as per the media reports.

Schools from nursery to class 8 in Noida will also closed until further order. In Gorakhpur, schools are closed today.

Bihar School Holidays 2025

In light of the extreme weather conditions, the Patna administration has ordered all private and government schools up to Class 8 to remain closed until January 11.

Haryana Schools Holidays 2025

The Directorate of School Education, Haryana, has declared a winter break for all private and government school students from January 1 to January 15, 2025.

Punjab Schools Holidays 2025

Schools, which were initially set to reopen on January 1, will now remain closed due to the ongoing cold wave. The new expected reopening date will be January 7.

Rajasthan Schools Holidays 2025

Winter vacation, which began on December 25, is currently ongoing. Schools are tentatively scheduled to reopen on January 6. However, the reopening date may be extended further based on prevailing weather conditions.
